What's going on this week
Most of this week's sessions are really about one thing: AI tools have stopped being a pilot and started touching real data. Agents are being given access to mailboxes and SharePoint, Copilot is drafting documents and summarising meetings, and IT is usually the team expected to know who's accountable when something goes wrong.
That's governance, backup and security, and they're worth taking in that order. Decide who owns it, make sure you can get it back, then lock it down.

Integrity360 and KnowBe4 treat AI agents like members of staff: they join, they change roles, they leave, and someone has to be accountable for what they do while they're here. It's a simple idea, but it's a practical way to frame an AI policy people will actually follow. Worth the hour if you're the one being asked to write it.

The One Point, the North East Cyber Resilience Centre and West Yorkshire Police on the April Cyber Essentials changes. The five controls are the same, but how you're marked against them isn't, and that's what catches people out at renewal. With the regional police cyber team on the panel, it should stay practical rather than salesy.

Copilot conversations are business records. They sit in your tenant, they can turn up in an eDiscovery search, and most retention policies weren't written with them in mind. Druva covers retention, legal hold and recovery, and it's billed as no pitch, so it's a fair test of whether you've actually got this covered.
